in South Styria

• Our photovoltaic system generates around 44,000 kWh of electricity each year.
• We run our wood chip heating system using resources from our own forest.
• Our waste is sorted and sent for recycling.
• Our used cooking oil is collected by the company Münzer and processed into biodiesel.
• By consciously managing towel changes, we reduce unnecessary washes and thus our consumption of water, energy and detergents.
• Modern LED bulbs and optimised lighting systems reduce electricity consumption for lighting.
• In our restaurant, we do not use table linen, thereby reducing the need for additional washes.
• When cleaning rooms, we use dry steam cleaners, thereby reducing the use of cleaning products.
• By digitising our guest information, we save paper. You can find information about your stay in our guest app.
• The flow rate of our taps has been reduced to lower water consumption.

Creating jobs for staff from the local area and a strong commitment to supporting young people!

• Supporting young people by training them: Apprenticeship training is very important to us. We can only attract skilled workers through excellent training. Our apprentice achievements show that we put our words into action. Our hard-working apprentices take part in apprenticeship competitions with great success. We develop our regional skilled workers through high-quality training.
• It’s not just apprentices we support! The “Gastrovibes”, founded by Michaela Muster, introduces pupils from the region to valuable jobs in tourism right on their doorstep.
• As a regional employer, we offer our staff not only seasonal but also year-round employment.
• Short commutes! Because without long commutes, there’s more free time.
• Further training and courses are a regular feature of the Ratscher Landhaus team’s agenda.
• Staff benefits at the Ratscher Landhaus – shared access to the Wellness Area, fitness facilities and much more.
• Electric cars are available to our department heads as company vehicles.
• Water is our most precious resource. You only realise just how valuable it is when it doesn’t flow from the tap in drinking-water quality. In just 57 out of 195 countries worldwide is tap water of drinking quality. That isn’t exactly many. We are among the lucky ones. However, we Austrians simply take it for granted. The serviceof serving water at the table with a smile makes it even more precious. We donate this contribution – 1 euro per bottle – to our charity partner – Steirer mit Herz!
• Workplace health promotion workshops organised by Österreichische Gesundheitsvorsorge
• The Ratscher Landhaus is family-run. Michaela and Andreas Muster run the hotel with great passion. The next generation is already raring to go.

• We source much of our food from selected producers we trust in our region.
• The Ratscher Landhaus is open seven days a week. This means that guests and locals alike have access every day to a restaurant, a bar and the hotel are open every day. A valuable contribution to the infrastructure of South Styria.
• The most precious asset in South Styria is nature. The flora and fauna must be preserved to maintain a balance. In spring 2024, we created a 15,000 m² flower meadow. The variety of plants provides a habitat for insects and serves as a food source for bees and other pollinators. Michaela and Andreas Muster are consistently moving towards a healthy future with their Ratscher Landhaus.
• Art and culture as part of our lives. Every year, we offer our hotel premises as a stage for regional artists. Annual exhibitions and vernissages bring art to South Styria.
• Herbs are grown in our herb gardens all around the house!
• Jams are homemade using seasonal fruit!
