South Styria
in winter

The hygge feeling

When the last colourful leaves have fallen to the ground, the temperatures are getting cooler and the first snowflakes are dancing on the frozen ground, then winter has also arrived in South Styria.

Winter tranquillity in the vineyards and yet there is so much to discover.

Experience the special magic of South Styria in winter.

Perhaps it’s the rolling hills, the dormant vines or the feeling of happiness that is palpable as soon as you arrive. In the quiet winter season (Adults Only time), the Ratscher Landhaus on the South Styrian Wineroad becomes a true retreat. Situated in a quiet location and offering the best culinary delights, the more than 600 wines on the menu will make every connoisseur’s heart beat faster. The cosy warm infinity pool and Wellness Area invite you to relax. Tip: Our wine concierge will be happy to organise your Wine Tasting!

The peace and quiet after the lively autumn season is almost mystical. Many Buschenschank (Traditional Wine Tavern) take a well-deserved break in winter. You could almost say there’s nothing going on, but that’s what winter is all about here. It is quiet, contemplative and, among other things, Advent in South Styria can truly be described as the quietest time of the year.

There’s something nice about that: all-round care at the hotel in Ratsch an der Weinstraße, you can enjoy a delicious 4-course meal in the restaurant in the vineyards without the hustle and bustle and round off the evening with a gin and tonic.
