Fasting week
in the south of Styria

5th till 12th of March 2027

Alkaline fasting is a mild form of fasting suitable for everyday use in which acid-forming foods such as meat, dairy products, bread and sugar are omitted. This balances the acid-alkaline balance in the body, stimulates detoxification and strengthens the immune system - for greater well-being and new energy.

7 days time for yourself and your body

Full of energy and joie de vivre -
Relaxation for body, mind and soul!

Alkaline fasting, like therapeutic fasting, is good for your health. It’s all about omission – in alkaline fasting, all acid-forming foods such as meat, sausages, dairy products, bread and sugar are omitted for a certain period of time. The acid-base balance in the body is neutralised, which also strengthens the immune system. Fasting enables the body to eliminate deposited substances such as waste products, acids and environmental toxins from the tissues, muscles and joints. We therefore speak of detoxification, purification and deacidification.

The two meals help the body to enter autophagy (cell renewal), which we can also use in everyday life. You cleanse your gastrointestinal system and lose weight.

You simply feel great after a base fasting week.

Message from your coach about
fasting in our hotel

My name is Maria Ploder, I live in Unterrosenberg 86 in St. Peter am Ottersbach and I run a Winery with my husband Alfred and my son Manuel and his partner Selina, which we cultivate according to biodynamic guidelines. I came to fasting 30 years ago through Miriam Wiegele. In 2020, I completed my training as a fasting trainer (Buchinger and alkaline fasting counsellor) at the ggf. I am also a qualified sommelier and herbalist. For me, health begins with the soil, which produces everything we need to live. Self-sufficiency is a central theme, which is why we also deal with various preservation methods such as fermentation, pickling, preserving and the production of mustard and cleaning agents. Gardening, cooking, exercising in nature, cycling, reading and our grandchild inspire my free time. My next step is to get other people excited about fasting and to share this joyful experience with them!

Yours, Maria Ploder

Alkaline fasting is a gentle form of fasting in which you avoid acid-forming foods such as meat, sausages, dairy products, bread and sugar for a limited period. At the Ratscher Landhaus, we combine mindful eating with exercise, relaxation, yoga and plenty of time for yourself.

No. You do eat during an alkaline fast. During our fasting week, there are two alkaline meals each day: a hot breakfast at 9.00 am consisting of porridge and fruit, and a soup with a filling side dish at 2.00 pm. The daily fasting period then begins. Tea is available throughout the day.

The day begins at 8.00 am with a group walk. Breakfast is then served at 9.00 am. In the morning, we alternate between yoga, workshops and other activities. At 2.00 pm, we meet for lunch together. Afterwards, there’s plenty of time to relax, enjoy some wellness activities or simply take some time for yourself.

No. The fasting week is primarily intended to be a break for you. Group exercise, yoga and workshops are all part of the programme – but if you need some quiet time or more time to yourself in between, you’re of course welcome to take it.

The fasting week is personally supervised by Maria Ploder. She is a qualified fasting coach specialising in the Buchinger and alkaline fasting methods, as well as a qualified sommelière and herbalist, and has been working extensively in the fields of fasting, nutrition and herbs for many years.

We believe it is important to create a personal and relaxed atmosphere. That is why the fasting week takes place in a small group of no more than 10 people.

Yes. Yoga sessions take place during the week. We also get some exercise together every day on guided walks in the fresh air.

Yes – and plenty of time has been set aside for this. Saunas and swimming pools are available to the fasting group. During the fasting week, the group can even use them until 9.00 pm.

Massages are not included in the price of the fasting week, but can be booked as an extra by appointment.

The package includes 7 nights’ accommodation, two alkaline meals a day, personalised fasting support from Maria Ploder, daily outdoor exercise, several yoga sessions, workshops and information on fasting and mindful eating, as well as use of the Wellness Area. In addition, a 10-minute relaxation session on the Brain-Light Shiatsu massage chair is included.
