We get to know Sekt and Riedenweine from South Styria and taste 10 samples from selected Wineries. Journey through the South Styrian world of Sekt and wine. Discover the complexity of the typical Styrian grape varieties, the different types of vinification and vintages, including organic wines.

Andreas Muster, born in Pößnitz on the South Styrian Wineroad, grew up as the child of a winegrower together with the winemakers of his generation and, as a true South Styrian, knows the diversity of South Styrian wines like the back of his hand. He passes on his knowledge with great passion in his hotel in Styria.
Thanks to the trust and friendship he has built up over decades with local winegrowers and his very broad, impartial knowledge of wine, Andreas Muster is constantly finding his way to the Ratscher Landhaus with outstanding bottles. These special wines are almost impossible to find on the open market.
If you would like to visit the South Styria wineries in person with Andreas Muster or take part in a Wine Tasting with overnight stay directly at the Ratscher Landhaus, we recommend booking a South Styria Wine Tour, i.e. a Wine Tasting with overnight stay, or a Wine Tour with a tasting at the winemakers on the wineries.

South Styria wine-growing region: Where South Styrian wine has its roots.
Don’t drink and drive: If you’re travelling along the South Styrian Wineroad and want to sample the extensive range of wines at a Buschenschank (Traditional Wine Tavern), it’s best to leave your car behind. If the walk with a few bottles of South Styrian wine in your luggage is too far and you are not travelling in the immediate vicinity of the Ratscher Landhaus, we have the WEINmobil that will take you to your destination in South Styria.

A good story never starts with a salad!
Spirited is better than s…ginless. A fine selection of more than 35 spirits from the region adorn our bar. South Styria stands not only for wine, but also for fruit, and since we can’t simply eat all the fruit, we like to refine it. It tastes great in the form of high-proof spirits. What do you think?
16 different types of gin, mostly from Styria, are the perfect end to the day after Gross. Each gin is so diverse and rich in finesse and is waiting to be savoured.
Tip: The gin and tonic after dinner tastes great in summer in the Weingartenlounge!
