Here is a short but fine selection of hiking trails:

Our favourite: The Ratsch-Ottenberg Wine Hiking Trail (variant 21a) is a 7.7 km long circular tour that leads through the idyllic wine landscape of South Styria. The start and finish point is the Ratscher Landhaus. There are numerous wineries and Buschenschank (Traditional Wine Tavern) along the route, including the Winery Pilch, Winery Gross, Gasthaus Schlauer, Wirtshaus Maitz, Winery Zweytick and Winery Rebenhof. A special highlight is the Herzerlbank at the Bullmann Winery, which offers a breathtaking view. The route combines enjoyment, nature and impressive panoramas along the South Styrian Wineroad.

The Altenbachklamm is a sporty introduction to our selection. This hiking trail combines climbing, hiking and skill. A certain amount of hiking experience is definitely an advantage here. The right footwear is also particularly important.

The route from Eckberg via Steinberg to Ratsch, on the other hand, is a little more relaxed. Here, the landscape and many refreshment stops take centre stage. During the Hiking Tour, you can stop off at the Café in South Styria, among other places. Refreshed, the rest of the trail is a breeze.

A balancing act between active hiking and leisurely strolling is offered by stage 23 of the “From Glacier to Wine” route. This hike along the South Styrian Wineroad not only leads along the Slovenian border, but also has the famous grape on the Eory hill as its destination. A route that is perfect for a holiday with the kids in South Styria.
