Enjoyment, wine & socialising on the Wine Route

Every year on 25 July, Ratsch on the South Styrian Wineroad transforms into a meeting place for hikers, wine lovers and connoisseurs. The Jakobiwanderung is a traditional event in honour of St. James, the patron saint of winegrowers. For many years, this special hiking day in South Styria has attracted countless guests who want to experience the beauty of the region around Ehrenhausen, Ratsch and the Weinstrasse together.

Hiking Tour through the vineyards of South Styria

The day begins at 11:00 am at Gasthaus Schlauer and leads along the picturesque vineyards and renowned wineries of South Styria. Whatever the weather, wine lovers and hiking enthusiasts are invited to take part with hiking boots, sunshine in their hearts and high spirits. An absolute highlight is the traditional raising of the Klapotetz in the evening, which symbolises the connection to the region and viticulture.

All of the participating wineries are represented along the approximately 10 km long hiking route. At the farm at home or in the middle of the vineyard. Let yourself be surprised!
